Connecticut Chicken Stock

Quote:
Okay, Chickenstock is at the bottom of the hill, and chicken processing could be at the top of the hill, back by the woodline, out of sight. We've got 2 roos to contribute to the cause. Remember those 2 EE's you gave me, PC? They must go.

No children need be offended, no happy mood disrupted. In fact you'd provide a welcome diversion for the DH who very much wants to learn how to process...and apparently others do as well. So I say, let's go for it. PC, he can't drink beer on Sunday, but Sat night, well that's another story...

I'll take one of the EE roosters, we've been looking for one for a while, he'll have lots of girl friends at our house

Okay, you can save one from the chopping block; it's either Yummy or Licious, but I must tell you both are terribly rough on the ladies, and disruptive to the flock.

I'd go for Licious, just because he's prettier, if you're serious......

I never thought of it as a forgotten skill. That is a very poetic thought. Thanks.

PP, those EE's, if they were anything like mine, are nasty. I have one hen from
that batch who is downright nasty. She's lucky she lays a green egg every day.

My thoughts exactly. I'm so glad those of us who want to learn will get the chance. Thank you MooseHill for having great space for us!

We are bringing:
Purple chicken salad
chips
hot dogs and buns for the grill
lemonade

We will bring our EZ up canopy if it fits in the car. DH says he "thinks" it will.

I am bringing Bestponymilo's roo to PP. I was going to bring my silkie roo but I'm going to keep him after all and look for 2 or 3 silkie hens for him. DS wants a little silkie flock. So I am not bringing any chickens to swap. : ( Maybe next time.
