Connecticut Chicken Stock

Too bad you didn't get any silkies at the show last months, there were tons of them.

I know. I was thinking I was going to find one of the other roos a new home at some point and I wasn't sure which one. Now I think I might be able to have both. I'll keep George and a small group of hens separate from the others. No rush. He'll go in with the other 11 pullets soon.

I have your rooster safe and sound in my garden shed. He is a big handsome fellow. He has been very quiet and polite so far. I covered the shed window with a towel since it faces east. My neighbors haven't complained about my two little roos and their relatively little crows. This guy looks like he could wake the folks around the corner, down the hill two towns over! Well maybe not, but I'm going to do what I can to help him sleep late!

I'm glad he's behaving well. We don't really mind the crowing, so the louder the better

Your ducks are sound asleep, remember to bring an extra crate for them tomorrow, and a waterer, they drink water like it's going out of style

My last check in before loading up and leaving:

Moosehillfarm has an awesome setup for us. There is a big, party style canopy plus
a few smaller ones so even if we get some rain we'll stay dry.

Wake up those chickens and get moving!!!!

Great time!!! Most of us stayed way past 2 pm. I'll let someone else try to list everyone who was there. I'll leave someone out. The weather was very kind. We had three or four light showers and slightly heavier rain as we were leaving, but lots of sunshine in between. The only rumbles of thunder were far enough away to not cause any concern. There were chickens and kids roaming around, great food, great conversation. PC did his processing demo and some of the results were placed on the grill.
I'm working on pictures and will get some on tonight.

It really was a GREAT time. Thanks to Becky and Bill for the hospitality. Fun and informative time, good eats too. PC and Son gave a great hands on processing demo. Garden tour, honey bee, gardening, and chicken info all rolled up in one. Very enjoyable day!!!
