Hi minifarmerct:

I'm right next door although not technically legal yet. Our town is changing the zoning regs to allow chickens so until then I won't say where. We have 7 black sex links and four light brahmas. It's nice to know there are fellow chickens owners nearby.

I am quiet sure I am legal in Tolland. I will find out soon enough I am going to Town hall for a permit to add an 8x12 kloter farms shed to my yard
Under use I am putting Chicken coop which is really what it is for

Chickens are called small stock in Tolland and are permitted with a special permit on 1.25 acres or more of land and where the small stock housing is at 75 feet away from your borders. There were a couple other conditions but I can't remember them at the moment...the zoning regs are on your town website. I checked out what Tolland Ellington and Bolton allowed when putting together an argument to be able to keep chickens here. My town next door doesn't allow them at all currently although that is apparently changing very soon...can't wait! Best of luck with your coop project...would love to see some pictures of your set up when the Kloter Farms shed goes up.

They had a couple of display sheds at the Hartford Home and Garden show. Was anybody there? And are ther any plans out there for turning one of them into a chickin coop? That would be amazing!

I got a garden special when they had a warehouse sale to be delivered in April hope to modify it myself
They do have chicken coops but largest is 4x6 ft

I have 4.5 acres but the wheth of my lot is only 145 feet so I can't get 75 feet on both sides hope we can work something out

Hello neighbors.. if anyone is interested... I have a Golden Laced cochin hen that I was looking to rehome. She is about a year old and is laying like crazy. She was an oopsie egg included in a batch of silkie eggs.
I also have a gorgeous pure White crested drake that is about 8 months old. I need to rehome him before he starts to mate with the other crested ladies. He has a huge crest. If anyone is close enough and wants one or both, just come and get 'em
