It took about 6 months for my husband to come around to the idea but it took no time for him to fall in love with them.

They won't toss a few extras in.. but they may call and tell you that you are too far from an international airport to ship you so few chickies. Then you will have to double your order. Sad, isn't it?

I agree, you are going to love it! Welcome to BYC. Feel free to ask any questions. You should bring your daughter to the Southern New England Poultry Show at UCONN on April 2nd. It is for 4Hers to show their birds, but anyone can come and see the exhibition and watch the showmanship. It will get her excited about the birds you are getting and maybe plant a seed for wanting to join 4H in the future. Get hubby to come, too. My hubby simply tolerated my chicken obsession until we went to the big Poultry Congress in Jan. Now he asks about different breeds and was practically handing out cigars when our girls started laying eggs.

I'm going to the UCONN show!!!!

I have Cochins, and have been trying to find others w/Cochins in CT, especially interested in Partridge bantams!

I wish he was mine, but unfortunately it is just a picture off of Google.

I don't have any chickens yet so he will have to do until I get my own. Good luck finding Cochins! I will keep an eye out for you.
