I'm sad not to be able to keep them. Why must the male of this species be more beautiful than the female?

I agree even with ducks and quail. Why is the male more beautiful?? Shouldn't it be the other way around.....

This is not really a reply but an update. I live in Tolland and after 2 months finally got my zoning variance for my
chicken coop/shed last night. There is no problem having chickens but there residence has to be 75 feet from the neighbors
border. I was allowed to have only 55 feet on one side 78 on the other so now my chickens have a new home and are legal.
an 8x12 Kloter farms shed makes a real nice chicken coop with a little work.

finally got the ducks out side today made them a little play area with snow fence a swimming pool an a dog house they cam in tonight did not get the light put in the dog house yet but once i do those smelly bugers are staying out there.my little girl debbie had another hatch this week 19 little orps an look at this little guy looks brown. i will post a pic each week as it grows so we can see what it feathers into.last pic is of our blue orp hen hoppy.
