Actually I do not pay for the hay at all. We go help a farmer in cheshire run the tractors to make hay and he let's me take all I want

for bedding hay like mulch i get it for 2-3 bucks 2cut for the goats is 5-6.we have our own hay field that a farmer hays but the only do round bales so that does not help us lol.

so speaking of hay, where is a good place to get hay in northwestern CT? We just moved up to the hills in the fall and I am not yet familiar with all the local places.

I would say keep and eye out on craigslist. June is 1st cut if the weather is dry.

I just got back - they had tons of the packages of shavings and they weren't on sale. I still picked up 3 because I needed them and was there.
