Well, since the eggs came from Beth, I'll leave it up to her to congratulate the rooster.

Definately send pic's!!! Is it a Lav or Black split?

It has become readily apparent that 2 of our 21 chicks are definitively roosters. We don't really want roosters. Anyone have any great reasons for me why I want to keep the roosters? We absolutely will not slaughter them, so if we don't keep them we will have to give them away to someone. Unless you guys can convince me that we want to keep them, lol!

It's black with blue and yellow underneath. Does that mean it'll grow up black?

Well, so far my 5 chicks (1 12 days old, the others 5 days old) seem to be doing fine-no pasty butts, eyes nice and clear, activity level steady - but today one of them is peeping an awfully lot! I don't see anything wrong with her to indicate she's in distress, any idea how to tel if there's a problem or if she's just feeling chatty? I think all the peeping is making the dog nervous (she doesn't like it when anything beeps, maybe she thinks that's what the chick sounds like)?
