blue an black pullets around 14 weeks old these girls are going to be nice i think.i also bought 4 blue chicks an 4 black chicks that are around 2 weeks old.an have 7 we hatched around the same age.cant wait to see these birds next spring when it is breeding time

looking for help on one of my rir whom appears to have bumblefoot.

ive attempted the surgery but got too freaked out,

because she the chicken got freaked out.
my hen is still laying eggs, and is about 2 years old and 6 months. but gets tired out while free ranging, so i can tell something needs to be done. going to our vet is out , too expensive. i am desperate. i am looking for someone here that can do the surgery for me. help out a connecticut friend.

He's free and I will bring him to you if you want him for free range. He is already an excellent protector of his hens, he's only 7 weeks old.

Very bummed - we lost our first chicken to predators yesterday. My 10 year old was putting them back in yesterday evening and found one chicken about a foot away from the fence with no head. My best guess is that something reached in through the fencing trying to grab something, and grabbed that chicken's head. No head anywhere and nothing else touched and the body was totally untouched. Poor chicken (and poor daughter as well! to have to find that).

Sorry for you both ... surprised to hear the raccoons can be a problem during the daytime too; while I *hope* my range is fenced strongly enough I was hoping not to have it tested that way...
