My new Austra white wandered off yesterday morning and never came back... Neighbors said they saw her and fed her some bread and never saw her again looked all over for her .. No sign

that's great! Usually,if they haven't started yet they wait till the days start to get a little longer. (unless you use a light).

I'm resigned to having to wait until next spring for my newbies to start laying... but an early surprise would be nice! Your report gives me hope.

Oh man - my cut and paste from an earlier message to my daughter somehow got into my last message here. I'm sorry about that, @homegrownchix. My phone is old and it lags a lot these days. I didn't even see that when I reviewed my written message. How embarrassing!!!!
