Connecticut!

I would recommend heading over to the Bethel agway for feed and bedding... they should have organic feed. Shavings work well though I actually use hay because I have a free source. You can spend money on a waterer or what I actually do is use a couple of empty cat food cans with 5/8 inch trap rock from our driveway... that way the cans don't tip over easily and the chicks don't drown in them... that is really the only tricky thing I can think of when first starting out. The silly things can very easily drown themselves in a small amount of water.

I am in Fairfield. I have a TON of chickens and love chicken keeping, as you can easily tell by my # of posts. I have been on BYC before I even had many chickens, and it's a riot. Anyone else doing the hatch-along? I have my incubator loaded up!

Tell your mates in Fairfield to NOT vote for Malloy as he hates farms and loves blood sucking taxes.
