Connecticut!

I know of someone who breeds bantams near me, but I'm not sure where they are online. Generally ordering from hatcheries is a good source of chicks. Do you know that this friend has enough space for more chickens, or the time to take care of them? I will warn against using Clark Farm for chicks, as it is poorly run and they often make breed or sexing mistakes, and don't take very good care of their animals.

Thanks! I saw some reviews of them which said the same and figured they would be a place to avoid.

Yes, she has or will have room because she is getting a second coop. And along with that comes desire for more chickens!

Hi, you will be fine with Hatchery birds. Life span expectancy I would relate more to care than Hatchery. I have mixed breeds right now that are from my own stock. All are Marans Roo over various hens.

Thanks! Any idea where to get an Ayem Cemani?

Or is she getting a second coop because the first is too small?
You should have your friend join here to learn about what would work out best.

She built a coop based on some plans she bought, and now that she has turned into a chicken collector it's too small. So she is getting an additional coop to supplement.

I told her about this forum but she likes her chicken groups on Facebook.

If anyone in connecticut raises pigeons, we found one today in fairfield county. It had one red metal band on one leg with these characters. I forget the order:
851
IF
2020
PIGEON
it also had a bright green plastic band on the other leg. We were unable to trace the band number properly, and were told by our local wildlife center that we should let it do what it likes as it is probably just resting. It had apparently been in our neighbor's yard for a few days before we rescued it. We gave it some water and chicken food, and left it to do what it liked. A few hours later, it flew away on its own. I thought I might mention it on here just in case, even though I don't have it anymore.

I have two Rouen drakes I'm looking to give away. They were born April 2019. They're free to whomever is interested. We have too many drakes in the flock.

The same thing happened to me a few years ago up here in Durham the bird stayed for a couple days hanging out with chickens then went back hone home safely

So, does anyone want this handsome boy? He hasn’t started crowing yet and he’s 20 weeks old,
The other rooster we had to get rid of started crowing much earlier, which is why I thought this was a hen. We are not allowed to have roosters here in Northern Westchester, NY.
