We got a lot of fruit trees this year (dwarf and standard size). Gurneys is having a big sale and has some dwarf trees on sale cheap - http://gurneys.com/category.asp?c=3...11GU&utm_source=em&utm_medium=spec&lm=gurn&m2

Hmm have you had good luck with Gurneys? I haven't in the past with blueberry bushes or strawberry plants. The dwarf cherry tree is in a 3" pot it says so that is pretty small. Good prices but tiny plants. I did buy a dwarf pear tree just now at home depot with tons of flowers on it about 6' tall for $30.

This is my first experience with Gurneys. We have lots of trees here that just came - planting them this weekend. Everything looks good. They are all very small/spindly, but we expected that

I have never heard of putting it on eggs or giving it to chickens (remember I have only had chicks since Easter lol), but it is supposed to be great fertilizer for plants.

Looking for love in all the wrong places? Well I can't help with that, but have a question - do you house them together or do they just run together? I've seen turkeys and chickens kept in the same coop, but never thought about quail in there too!

That sounds like a great price! I'd love some fruit trees, maybe next year.

Beth - Every Saturday Common Ground is open to the public from 10am-2pm (until their summer camp starts sometime in the summer). We'll probably go around 11 or so and bring a picnic lunch. We'll be the ones chasing down all of the chickens and hugging them. They also have a couple bunnies, goats, sheep, roosters, ducks and they may have their pigs in by now. They also have an organic garden and you can walk around and sample everything that is growing in season. Can you tell I'm obsessed with this place? I wish I'd gone to high school at a place like it.

last year someone gave us him they raised them but a fox got in the coop an killed all the quail but him.so we just but him in our chicken coop an at that time they were in a covered run.now they free range an he free ranges with them at night he goes back into the coop or sometimes goes the the peacock pen to sleep depending on how long it is taking all the chickens to go in at night he is always the last on in.we love his calls an would love to see him with some ladys.
