I am planning on attending the get together at the Ridgefield Library today. I hope it is not to late to sign up. I am looking forward to meeting fellow Back yard Chicken members, and to making friends. I have so much to learn as this is a new adventure, and I want to do it right!!

Hope to see you today.

Lisa

Hopefully by next weekend the girls will be spending their days in it - although I think they'll still need the warmth of their brooder in the evenings (they're 3 1/2 weeks old now)... More pictures on my BYC page.

Great presentation today at the Ridgefield Library - good info for a beginner like me

I really liked being able to see someone else's coop setup - New Egg, was that yours? - I recognized the 'chicken folly'!! Beautiful gardens, I'm jealous of those AND your coops! Wish I'd had time to tour all 3 coop setups... ah well. I'll have to stalk the websites I guess! Thanks for those who opened their homes and shared their knowledge

Anyone have a good source for cheap hardware cloth? I need a good bit to fence in the bottom of the chicken tractor and haven't had any luck with Craig's list or Freecycle so far... sigh.

Hey, gang! I've been without internet and phone since Thursday's lightening storm but am getting some wifi at the car mechanic today (should be back online at home later this evening). Can't tell you how hard BYC withdrawl is!

Anyone in CT have Orpingtons hens/pullets for sale? I'm such a chicken enabler.. another friend is busy building her coop and run and only wants Orps. Any color is fine. They will not be shown, so breed standards not important.

AND another friend is also building a coop and is looking for 3-4 babies/started pullets... any breed (no roos, but she understands that with babies it may be a crap shoot.) Let me know if you have any for sale OR if you need someone to split an order with you.

How's the little pullet? What did your daughter name her?

I might be able to help with the Orp's. Have your friend email me.

Beth
