i am so annoyed right now, my sister in law who's daughter use to do poultry 4-H, don't know if she does, probably doesn't. well in the spring when i got my dumb polish mo, went and spent my gas to get her a rooster, spent my time and money to get him tested when i got mine tested. well now she wants to get rid of him, said he's mean! no he's not mean, is he unhappy well yea! doesn't get any attention has to hid in a corner cause he's with ducks cause no one will accept him. i knew when she bought a Japanese bantam rooster her daughter was gonna not want him! he always get picked on by the Japanese and male ducks, always on wet cement, ugh! im hoping she'll give him back to me with out a fight, so he can get his head feathers back if they're still missing, and cool down a bit, the last rooster they had that they didn't want she brought him across the street in the wood and he got killed by a fox or coyote

Besides all my friends think I'm nuts for spending the time and money on my chickens. All I hear is aww.... THEY ARE JUST CHICKENS>>>>> Blah Blah Blah. But, then when I show them young ladies with big smiles holding blue ribbons in front of my babies, they all say that is Awesome!!!! That makes it all worth it!!

Aww poor boy. Did you check him for lice and mites? I would check him at night with a flashlight and see if any creepy crawlys are on him. Also I would gently scrub his crest with a betadine solution being careful to tilt his head back not to get it in his eyes. Then put a salve on there to help heal. If it's itchy he will scratch it with his feet/nails making it bleed

You'd be suprised how quickly he recovers. But, I would still treat him for lice and mites with Ivomec.
