Hi everyone,
I have a bit of a problem.
I have one standard 6 yr old silver laced wyandotte that i have had since she was a chick.
She use to have 3 other sisters but they all got taken by predators.
She had been alone for a while, so i felt bad and decided to get her some friends (at this time i also found a bantam polish and ended up keeping it, didn't really plan on it but it happened).
I prefer bantams, so thats what i got. Ive had standard and bantams in a flock before with no problems. I got 1 Ameraucana, 2 japanese bantams, and 2 silkies.
When my wyandotte was sold to me years back, she was suppose to be a bantam but nope she ended up being a standard.
Well ive been having some real issues with her. Everyone gets along, even my two roosters that were just introduced to each other yesterday.
But she is a grumpy old tyrant. She chases them and if they try to walk or run past her, she will pull their feathers out.
If anyone is to close she will give them the stink eye or attack them. She even attacks the chickens who are minding their own business.
Ive thought about separating her and done this, but even so, she still always going to be way bigger then them.
If they were all the same size, i don't think it would be so much of an issue.
I'm going to try a few things first, but i wanted to know, if i for some reason can't keep her anymore, would anyone in CT want her?
I will not sell her to be eaten though. I want her to go to a good home.
Other then her dominance issue, she is very good.
She got along with other standards so i don't think that will be too much of an issue.
She does well free ranging or penned up.
She is very submissive to humans and she will lay in the warmer months.
She is very cold hardy.
I would like her to live out the rest of her days in peace, but i don't know if that will be possible here if she keeps picking on my bantams.
If i can't keep her, would anyone be willing to give her a good home?
I have pictures if you want them.
