Cons in only keeping white homer hens

A pair of shooter marbles? I would guess any toy store, there are places in tourist areas here that sell 'old tyme' toys, and shooter marbles (the large ones) are sold individually for 25ish cents.

Don't know anything about the company, the shooters are often the right size for pigeons or close enough, the normal marbles for doves. (I don't think they notice that much really)

THe reason to do this it keeps the hen or hens from laying eggs right away to replace the ones you are taking, that is stressful on the hens, of course if you want "cooing" you need males...

(I have two 'alternate' couples of doves, a male pairing with no eggs, and a female pairing that lays four infertile eggs- aIso have 4 standard couples who's eggs I have to be careful of-)

youd be better getting all males then, as they will nest then home better and not have to be continually given hgher essentials to keep producing eggs, though they may bring home female from other places, but you can use dummy eggs for chickens, just buy white clay or something you can mold into small egg shape them let harden and give to them to set on, though they will toss the dummy egg maybe as a good smart homer will when learn theyre not fertile (mine did that constantly and learned to just push to corner of nest box and lay more so i wouldnt take away). maybe you should just get rollers or some other kind. though found homers to be easiest to keep. but need the most room (as need supposedly about half a dozen to flock well watching for preds for each other, but ive found four worked fine for that too, they just look better and fly better in flocks of half to a dozen).

Females - can- coo but don't often, like hen chickens can crow- if you want cooing you need males.

If you take the egg and leave nothing they might lay more eggs and get stressed, if you take the egg and leave something the right color and shape they will set it and not try to lay right away. (usually)

I have a pair if girls who are paired up that I don't take the eggs because they are infertile with each other.
