I met Josie today. It is always so nice to meet one of you in person!
On a sad note I am a bit in shock. I thought my Mom was doing better and I had relaxed a little about her condition since she had been able to eat again for a couple days. I went to visit her and my Dad was there so I visited with both of them. Nothing seemed amiss.
And then I found out after I left that my oldest sister had taken her to the pulmonary specialist this morning because her oxygen level had dropped so low during her physical therapy. He examined her and told them that it was time to call in Hospice and just make her as comfortable as we could, that her lungs had deteriorated so much. Mom knew and she said nothing. My Dad didn't know, but my sister was going by after work to tell him. I feel like the earth has been ripped out from underneath me. I can only imagine how my dad feels.
My Mom said she was going to beat this thing but my sister said she doesn't think Mom realizes how serious it is at this point. She has fought this thing so long.
I didn't go to town all weekend because I was sure she was doing much better. I guess I had myself convinced she was going to get well.
