That bites Danz, I hate it when people aren't honest about things like that. It sounds like you're not having a good time right now with incubators either. I'm wondering if GQF has had some quality issues the last couple years after I bought that brand new cabinet incubator & the thing broke down a month after I got it. They did replace the parts but they weren't nice about it at all, in fact they were downright rude to me. Their customer service leaves a lot to be desired, I will say that.LOL! 22Qzoo you think like I do!!!
Well I am a bit unhappy this morning. I bought a hog and my son also got one from a guy who said the hogs were small about 200 pounds but they were fat. I never saw them cause he delivered them to the locker. The locker called this AM and said they are grinders. In other words no fat and not much in the way of meat. Hams and bacon would shrink up to nothing after being smoked. I just told them to cut what they could for roasts cause I sure can't use a ton of ground pork. I also said I would just take them both. My son does smoking and barbecue and they wouldn't work for him. Luckily I had paid for his hog and he was going to just pay me back. So I'm pretty unhappy because that's a lot of money to invest for very little usable product. I can use the ground pork for some things but I really want to have some other meat as well. I guess next time I will have to be sure I see the hog before I buy. If I had known these were that small I would have just brought them home and fed them out myself. Live and learn!!! They were supposed to be 200 pound hogs but I will only get about 60 pounds out of each if I'm lucky. That sure raises the price of the meat per pound.
you can tell its a nice day out, since its so quiet around here
I was wondering if any of you guys have to follow a gluten free diet like I do? I have been doing it for almost 1 1/2 years now. My goal is to learn how to bake my own gluten free breads.....Which leads me to looking for a good stand mixer. Anyone have any advice on brands, and such? I know that Kitchen Aid and Bosch are great brands, but not sure about others!
Ok , well never mind that last part, I was just looking up duck eggs and found that just about everyone loves to bake with them and that they are really great for gluten free baking. Yay for serendipity !

Well my DH managed to leave the door unlatched to the guinea hoop coop last night & now the guineas are all out today. He'll never get them in, he doesn't have the patience to deal with them, so now they're probably going to be out & I'll end up losing birds, It's really aggravating. I know he didn't do it purposely but he gets so distracted at times & doesn't pay attention to what he's doing. I hope I have some birds left by the time my leg is healed. I already had my Salmon Faverolles out roaming around yesterday due to the coop door being left open. Fortunately they wanted back in & he was able to put them back in, so I made him go out & check that all of the other doors were latched. Those birds in the breeder pens have never been out so it worries me if they get loose.
No, Its your Lucky Day! At least you didn't have a fire!
