RALPH -I like that little coop, light weight, easy to move. Dryer shell ?

DANZ- Your little coop is adorable ! I wish I had the construction knowledge to pull some thing like that off. I'm not afraid of any tools I just don't have the instincts to know what stuff to do first to get it to look like the image I have in my head.
I really have to restrain my self sometimes cuz I can see a lot of potential in a lot of things but don't always have the time to make it happen and then it just looks like a bunch of junk. I did find a cute way to repurpose some beach bags that I got at the thrift store for a few bucks, these are now hanging on the front of my house.

Really love those colors! Very spring-like! I am not creative so it would never have crossed my mind to put plants in them and hang them outside. They lover awesome!

I just have to show off my new babies, my first Ancona ducklings that hatched yesterday. Aren't they cuties?

Awwwww... they are soooo cute.... I forgot how cute baby ducks are. Only had them once from Danz and my son has been asking me to hatch some. So far, I just haven't found the time yet.

Hello all. I read this forum daily and have learned so much from this thread. I have a problem with my goose and asked for help on the goose thread. I did receive one response but really would like some advice from this thread. Here is my post and a picture of my foamy eyed goose:

My goose has white "froth" in her left eye. The other eye looks irritated too but not as bad. I have been washing with warm saline solution but in just a little while it is "frothy" again. My gander's eyes are starting to look like this too. They have a pool with clean water along with a bucket to drink from and wash out their eyes. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to treat them? Do I need an antibiotic or is it just an irritation that will clear on its own? Thanks for your input and help. It is greatly appreciated.

I'm in a very boring meeting so figure I'll pop in and read some posts. Hopefully no one from my company saw this because this call is costing us $800/hr. LOL I'm glad my company hasn't blocked the chicken website...

It feels like Spring... really... the temperature is awesome. I left my tomato seedlings outside overnight and realized that the temp this morning was in the upper 40s, not 50s. So first thing I did was to look outside, make sure they were OK. Much to my relief, they were just sitting there, swaying in the breeze. I'm glad they are doing fine because I don't have time to get another batch of seeds started so late in the season.

The one broody mama is definitely broody. She is bound and determine to sit until some babies show up. I found some duck eggs the other day and was ready to cook them up for the dogs since I didn't know how long they have been there, I decided to put them under her. Yesterday, DH complained that the broody mama left her nest to sit in another nest box, leaving the duck eggs in the original nest. Needless to say, I was not happy to hear that. DH put her back into the original nest and hoping she will just sit there till something hatched. If not, I'll just have to sneak in some chicks later just to break the broody. I still have my doubt that she will be able to hatch anything without killing them. So I really hesitated to give her anything, not even the duck eggs. Guess we will see what happens in a month.

Have a great day everyone.

Welcome! I don't know much about goose so hopefully someone who knows goose like Danz, Lizzy, will give you some good advise. Sorry your goose's eye is having issue.

When my rooster was attacked and had an eye injury, I put the Veteryncin eye gel in his eyes. He did recover but was blinded from the attack. With the "froth", I'm afraid it maybe an infection so your goose may need antibiotic. Sorry I can't be of much help here.

I hope Danz and others will join and give you sound advise shortly.

Thanks Tweety. I have been so impressed with the knowledge that everyone on here has. It has been so windy here and dry that I was just hoping that it was a slight irritation. My geese share a coop and everything with my chickens and turkeys. I am hoping that it is not something that they can all get from them. So far it seems that the geese are the only ones affected. I have not added any new birds in several months.
