SternRose don't do it. Just ask him. He might deny he likes you, even if he does; just because he is put on the spot. Besides if he hasn't decided if he likes you or not if you spend time together he might decide he really does... or you might decide you do or don't like him as much as you thought.

@sternrose - This is great advice! Just keep it simple. "Hey, how'd ya like to go the dance with me on Friday?" The worst that can happen is that he will say no. Smile, look him in the eye (not at the floor), and just ask! Let us know how it goes!

Welcome to the forum. The ducks are most likely Pekin if they are white. Great choice for laying and meat. I assume you got the cornish for meat birds and the EEs for layers?

I actually goofed up not know the Cornish was just a meat bird but we are OK with that. Gonna go get 6 more layers this weekend. Haven't decided on breed yet. Prolly something with a rich dark egg. Will post pics once I pick them up.

Coop has been picked up and paid for. I love it when stuff sells fast.
Yay, that went fast! I knew it would because it was a nice little coop.

That's OK, now you have some birds for the stew pot when they get big enough. If you want really dark brown egg layers Welsummers lay pretty dark eggs & are really calm, friendly birds & Marans lay dark eggs as well. I have found the Welsummers to be the better layer of the two, at least in my experience.

I'm pooped out, I went out & worked on my new lamb pen this afternoon & pounded posts in & dug up some rocks in there. Then I went around & trimmed tree limbs in the way & cut down a huge overhanging limb that was going to cause problems. That one almost did me in & it was so big that I barely could drag it out of the way. I'm going to have to get my DH to move that one. I've got about half of the pen up so far.

Sounds good I'll check those out when I pick out my new babies. Maybe get a couple of each. I'm ready for it to be warm. Only thing I got accomplished today was cleaning out my hubbys shop so I have a place to store my coop building supplies. This weekend is supposed to be really warm so hoping to get a lot done. Its my bday weekend so everyone has to do what I say which means lots of free labor. Mwahahahaha!

I made the same mistake when picking out my chicks a few months ago. The Cornish x grew so fast. We butchered them at 8 weeks! So of course, having chickens is an addiction... Had to get more. I swear my brooder( old playpen) getting more use from chicks than it did with my daughter!! Good luck on your chicks, these guys are so helpful. And happy birthday! I will have to remember that in a few months for my bday. Love free labor

Every year they ask me what I want and I say nothing. This year I said let's build the chicken and my hubby said absolutely. So OK let's do it. Lol!

I wish I could get some free labor for my birthday. At my age people don't even think about it! I've had so many!!
Just don't let yourself get attached to those cornish or you won't be able to butcher them. They aren't pleasant to raise either because they eat more so they poop more and stink more.
I've got to go back to the dentist again today. These trips are taking their toll. Too bad I couldn't get a dentist locally that knew what they were doing. I need to pick up some more shavings, chick starter, and some bean seeds while I am there. I hope to get the trailer and the brooder cleaned out today so I can make some more room and do a head count on chicks left. I am wanting to make a big sale and need to figure out how many chicks I have for this guy.
