Finally! Tell me where you found them: creek? North, south, east or west-facing? Shady or sunny?

I'm new at this and I'm dying to find some, but I'm not sure where to look on the property I'm allowed to search!!

Renee,
If you are out looking for them PLEASE DON'T USE A PLASTIC BAG ! please use a onion sack or something of that nature. This way thore spores will drop where ever you walk.
I have found mine this year all were under cedar tree's

oh yeah great advice-and pinch them and leave part of the bottom in the ground for more next year-we always use canvas woven sacks. After you soak them, pour the water out in a good location and

for some in your yard next year-still havent found any in mine though even though it should be a great location and several people around get a few in their yards every year

I LOVE that tank 7, I just can't afford to enjoy it very often.

Now I may be wrong but I think the rest of this week should be prime time pickin'. I simply refuse to belive that the morel season is over.

You dont need anymore than a 4pk of those tank 7's or you will be laying in that creek lol, oh yeah with these cool temps and moisture it should be great all week. I thought it was the 12 oz otherwise those were some super size morels, though I have seen some that were so huge you thought they were fake
Ok if anyone wants to go Snipe hunting I will drop you off in a great location-maybe if your lucky you will be tracked by cougars and Bigfoot too

Generally morels will be in approximately the same area every year. It doesn't matter which direction the ground slopes. I have found them under all kinds of different trees, slopes facing all different directions. Generally it will be in an area where there is not a lot of sun, perhaps some sun, not a lot of grasses, and usually quite a bit of leaf litter from the fall before.

The best way to find them is to just go for a long, long slow walk through the woods.

The onion sack or mesh bag is ideal. You can wad it up in your pocket until you need it, then once you put morels in it and walk around more you will actually be spreading the spores. (I tend to give mine an extra little shake in areas that I think are ideal.)

It's agains morel huntin morals to tell ANYONE where you find your morels!
