Okay, the floor is in, I added more floor joists to secure it and hold more weight on the inside (like ME). The back door is put together and is on it's hinges... If i have enough left over lumber-- I want to add a cross brace to look like the Z on a barn door (but I need to make sure i have enough wood. I started the nest box and then got about half way thru it and my drill's battery died. I ran inside to switch it out and then got hungry and I'm still in here. TIRED. It's been crazy windy out there and it really wears you out. But I'm so close now-- I want to leave the roof for last so that it's easy to do everything on the inside without having to squish myself.
The nest box looks HUGE on this picture-- but I swear it's just the perspective. It's really not that gigantic. Going to make a slanted roof. The door will be on the side-- NOT the roof.
And since I keep talking about my poor kid's redwood playset--- this is the pile of lumber I'm working from. I'm actually starting to run low on good long pieces that I can use that aren't cracked, broke, or whatever. It was taken out by a really bad storm last fall. The kids are still sad.
