Consolidated Kansas

(blush) I swiped the picture from the Tx historical website (via google images, I think). It is of a Nebraska homestead in the 1800's. No family relationship. We live in a berm house, so I am ever so aware of our "dugout" heritage. They fascinate me, too, I just don't know much about them. Actually I was looking for the Saline Co. picture (I saw it at the Ks Historical society museum years ago) when I came across this one.

I love those snapshots of history. Unfortunately so many of them are unidentified because the only people who knew what they were, died without sharing the information.

I'm wrestling with identifying some family photos from the early 20th century. My parents and their siblings are all deceased, so there isn't anyone who knows who many of those people were. -sigh-

I should have listened when my mother was sharing all her copious knowledge all those years ago. Too soon old, too late smart.
