Sure let me know. I do have some pretty strict rules for disease prevention but as long as you follow them, it's not a problem at all. I also raise lots of other birds. My dogs however would think you are there to visit them. They love my customers and try to tell them in doggy language that no one EVER pets them. LOL I'll send you a PMOooh, Waverly on the KS side is only about an hour out, so that might work. Thanks for the tip!
@chicken danz Might I message you when the weather looks a little nicer and come visit your farm? I promise I'm not a psycho... I just want to hang out with some chickens![]()

I had a horrible pregnancy and rough delivery but we're sure enjoying her now that she's nearly 4 months old!! I still have my critters, still raising Nigerian Dwarfs and I've added a Nubian doe to the herd. Hoping to add another one this year and possibly a Nubian buck as well if I can find a nice one. My chickens are mostly free ranging due to lack of time to pen them properly. My last year's hatch of BLRWs have turned into Beautiful birds and the lacing and coloring is so much better on these birds. Sadly I lost all my Partridge Brahma hens to sickness or predators and just have a gorgeous rooster yet. Im really wanting to get him some girls again soon. I just adore the breed and the partridge variety. A lot of other breeds went a bit by the wayside last year since i was so very sick but I do have some gorgeous Golden Cuckoo Marans and some lovely BCMs coming on too that are just starting to lay again. Last year I sold a BCM that was supposed to be a hen but was actually a roo and I'm planning to get him back soon. I'm very enthused about that. Not sure where I'm going to put my incubators since I've turned my storage/hatching room into a nursury now. Not sure hubby will be too enthused about incubators running in his office! Lol
Does anyone know of a poultry farm, or even just a small backyard type operation, near Olathe where a chicken-crazed lady can just sit and hang out with chickens? My backyard is oddly shaped and nowhere near big enough to have some and my neighbors would definitely report me if I tried to be sneaky about it, and my husband is a firm "no" to a house chicken. I've thought about volunteering at Deanna Rose or maybe asking Mahaffie, but I don't think those chickens are particularly fond of people and I don't know if I can specify "please just throw me in the chicken pen every time, thanks!" when you volunteer to help.
I just... want to hang out with some chickens and learn how to care for them hands-on lol.![]()

I love the personalities all the birds have!
