BB hatching eggs are on our to do list. Every BB we've had has been sweet as all get out, they've just all been roos. He needs some BB girls.

It's amazing how many people driving by will stop to look at them that have never seen a live chicken in real life. Good thing there's room to pull over. I have had a few people ask me what they were. We also have a Silkie roo running around at the moment.


While our neighbors are good about it right now, you never know when someone's going to move and you'll get some not so accepting new neighbors. Since they are allowed with a permit, I am going to keep trying. We'd also like to raise awareness and help with getting more backyard flocks going here. Kind of necessary when you want to be as public as we're hoping to be.

Problem with that around here is you are more likely to end up with naysayers as supporters. The money runs this town and even though the money is all on the north side, they will swoop in, say no, and then where are you? Similar situation happened in Caney a few years ago. Nobody cared till the city got involved and then they outlawed them. Small town, small minded politics. I've lived here too long to believe they will change.

I'm with all of you, THIS WEATHER IS TERRIBLE!!!!!!

I hate winter to begin with but this year it's been downright awful!!!

I say lets get ahold of Mother Nature and beat her senseless, LOL.

Good thing my chickees are so darn cute and loved, hubby won't mind leaving them in the house longer. We also built them a new brooder last night so now they have tons of room to spread out and run around!
