Consolidated Kansas

Hey guys,

Sorry I disappeared into the ether but I'm having some weird computer problem. Haven't been able to post all morning -- haven't even been able to type something in reply, so now that I've gotten this far I have high hopes for success.

I haven't had a chance to catch up reading the posts but just wanted to say a huge thank you to Danz and Hawkeye for the Sevin idea. Sevin is my new best friend and everything seems to be back to normal in the brooder. What a relief. I was worried sick.

I'll catch up with everyone this evening. Enjoy the beautiful weather!

Hi everyone! I have been way to busy to keep up here but with all the good information I'm going to have to make time somehow. Hope you are enjoying this great weather! This is a pic of the first pea chick of this year it is about a month old. If anyone is interested in eggs please let me know I have not put any up for sale yet. pm me.

That doesn't look like an India blue. What color is it going to be. Cute little guy. I kind of miss our peacocks, but it will have to wait for this year.

I tried out a new idea for my brooder I built in the shop. I was able to modify those little metal rabbit feeders so that I could use them for chicks without them throwing food all over the place and wasting it. I have been trying them out for a while now and they are working great. I'll post some pics here one of these days soon. They are really working well.

Here is where I saw the heat tape that you buy by the foot. They have it in 11 inches wide also. http://www.ebay.com/itm/FlexWatt-he...ultDomain_0&hash=item4cedb64413#ht_2979wt_857

They also have an interesting incubator thermometer.

I have seen the company's name used on the quail board, so it must be a good company to deal with and their number must be available somewhere.

Yep - that's the same stuff I got. I believe I got mine from Big Apple Herp Supply which is located in the pacific northwest somewhere. They were a good company to deal with too, and sent me extra goodies with my order.

Oh my - that is a terrific idea! I had been wondering what to do with my snake rack when the last of my snakes has passed. You just answered that question for me

Just wanted to say "hello"! You all are busy! I don't post much, but try to skim along and follow. And now that I am chasing one of Danz's puppies (YEAH!!!), time is even shorter to sit at the computer...

My thoughts and good wishes going to all of those who need it!

Looks fertile to me. I don't see those little white spots on store bought eggs, but maybe it's because they're so light in color. But I was always told if you see that spot, it's a fertile egg.

Okay, this is Seymore's egg from yesterday-- we cooked it up just now for a snack before we leave for Piano. I think I don't know what I'm seeing, because I'm just too inexperienced. So.... fertile or not??? Keep in mind it was SUPER difficult to get this picture and it not bounce back the light too badly. Which is why I boxed in the 'spot' so you wouldn't be trying to figure out what I was taking a picture of. I think this looks like a regular spot??? Since I've never paid too much attention to eggs before, I do see the whiter ring around it-- but it's not a "ring", ring, right? Just a whiter ring around it-- that's normal?
