sorry if i don't reply to all post I've been busy looking after our dachshund who was hit by a car thursday afternoon. He is doing better just bruised up vet kept overnight and we picked him up yesterday. He still isn't walking so great but im sure it will take time. He is still a puppy and goes after everything that moves. Looks like will have to make a dog run so he will stay safe.

Does anyone one know if they make unground fencing that doesn't shock them? Im not crazy about the shock thing

Have a good day everyone

I'm so sorry about your dog, but glad he's doing better. I'm sure he's still very stiff. It will probably take several days, although dogs seem to recover from injuries faster than people.

I was so busy yesterday I never got a chance to get on here after morning. I got very little sleep and got up and started again.
Why is company so much work? I never got the yard cleaned up which I hopes to do.There is just too little of me to go around sometimes.

My back is killing me today. I hate being old!!!

I can tell you why company is so much work for me. I don't keep my house clean during the summer. I used to; I used to be pretty much company-ready all the time. Then we started doing all this outdoor work and the giant garden and I developed the sciatic/pelvic problem ... And I'm old.

I just had a fight with DH yesterday about the house and why does it always come last. Once a month we go into crazy mode when it's our turn to host family night, but even then we half-you-know-what the job. A quickie dusting and floor sweeping and hope nobody notices that it's not really that clean. It stresses me out big time because I used to be so OCD about it.

I almost wonder if this bird has a reproductive tumor? Her widened stance and the bareness on her bottom remind me of when dogs get tumors in their abdomen. I know what you mean, it is hard to find someone to look at them and treat them. If she is acting happy and eating I would just let her live her life until she gets to a point where she doesn't feel well.

That's probably exactly what we'll do. I'll just feel guilty about not doing more for her, even though I don't think there's anything to do.

Happy birthday! Hope you're spending it doing something wonderful!

It almost looked like it might rain this morning! But then it didn't. Of course. We had what looked like a front come in with dark clouds and then go to the south of us. I was sure hoping. Sigh. But at least it looks like it might be a pretty nice day!

That's what happened here, too. I got all excited mid-morning, but now it's as sunny and clear as ever.

X2!!!!!

Sunflowerparrot, I'm glad to hear Jasper the roo is doing well over there & liking his new girlfriends. It may be a good thing that he doesn't like Fern, maybe he will teach her to leave his girls alone. Really that is what I contribute to my dogs not bothering the chickens much at all is my protective roo going after them right off when they were pups. Now that he is gone I have caught Jasmine in one of her silly girl moods just chasing chickens for the fun of it once or twice & got after her. She doesn't get in that mode too much thank goodness, but I did see her one night at feeding time getting goofy & not even getting close to them, just making them run. I sometimes think it's a game to them when things run away from them like the cats or chickens or whatever. Some of the cats won't run, they hold their ground & then it's no fun so she leaves them alone.

Thanks for the birthday wishes! We had a really nice day here, the weather was just beautiful, I couldn't have asked for a better day weather wise. We spent quite a bit of time outside just enjoying the fresh cooler air. My son & his girlfriend got in last night about 12:30 & they went & got the girls this morning. The older one left after lunch to go shopping for school clothes with a friend, but my granddaughter stayed all day. It was really nice to have them all here with me today, The girls & my son went shopping & brought me a whole bag of cute stuff for my birthday, mostly things for outside to put in my flower beds. They got me a really pretty glass wind chime too that is a sunflower. I liked everything they brought me, but then since it was from them it wouldn't have mattered what it was, I would have liked it. Everybody just left a bit ago & now I'm here all alone, but it was a fun day. My son & his girlfriend are going to this yearly party that an old friend of his that lives in Wichita has every year, it's a birthday party for his friend's wife, so he combined my birthday with seeing them also. I'm just glad they got to come for the day, I don't get to see him as much now that he lives in OKC. His girlfriend said they plan to come more often though, so that will be nice. I really like this girl he is with now, I think she's a keeper, he found a good one this time. My DH just left to work for the rest of the evening also, so it's not a bad thing for me to have some down time now after such a big day. I got a new cell phone for my birthday yesterday & was having some really big issues with it. I spent an hour on the phone with Sprint & still hadn't gotten it fixed, but all of the sudden this evening it seems to be working better. I was ready to hop in the car & go back up to Wichita & take it back to exchange it, but now it seems to be working, so we'll see what happens. I really like the phone, so I hope it works right from now on.

We had the funniest thing happen this morning. My granddaughter & the girlfriend & I went out & were standing looking at the turkeys & my granddaughter started making this sound at them. All of the sudden the tom turkey started displaying for her & just fanning his tail & dancing around & gobbling it was just hilarious. He really put on a show for them & I just laughed my head off at him. I have never seen a turkey turn & twist his tail around the way he was doing, it was almost like he was a fashion model & he was doing all of these poses.

Happy Birthday Trish!
Sorry it my wish is coming so late in the day.
It was a good day but I am exhausted and the house is a mess again. No matter what all that dirt outside gets tracked in.
Company is finally gone. I only got 5 hours sleep last night so I am ready to chill. Wish I didn't have to get up in the morning. I would probably sleep in for sure.
DH only got an hour or so of sleep after working all night. I would think he'd be ready to drop.

Yeah, my Kindle shows me the Daily Deal each day thru Amazon. And I've found the free book list-- but the stuff I want to read is all short stories which annoys me.
Were you able to check out that link I posted a day or two ago? I haven't seen many, if any, short stories on there - they are all full length books for free. Sometimes I see one for free and a week later notice it listed for sale and no longer free so I think sometimes they do an introduction of a new book for free in order to get some reviews on it, and once it has a good rating, they remove it from the free list and start charging for it. So I've ended up with some really good books - not just the ones that are free because no one wants to buy them.

If anyone has any other bright ideas on finding Lucie a great goat farm to live on let me know!
When I thought we were giving Tory up, I had posted her on CL and had a guy respond who said he wanted her, and I had to write and tell him she was no longer available. Give me a minute to look through my inbox and try to find his email again and I'll pm you his contact info.

Trish, I knew it was coming up but didn't know the exact day. I've been gone all day and just had to spend quite awhile reading the posts I missed. I will now say a belated:

Happy Birthday!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!! Loved the turkey story -- so cute!

I've read up again, but haven't had time to reply. I sure enjoy reading up on everyone. Things are starting to return to a more sane level now that the kids are back in school. Hopefully I'll get back in the groove soon.
