So an update, little chick looks less swollen after coconut oil treatment, today. Little one is eating and drinking on its own again, so I’m hoping it’s going to take a turn for the better. Thankyou for all of your helpful advice! The oil treatment seems to be helping lots!

I'd continue giving coconut oil till you know for sure, she's in the clear.

Thank you all for posting this. I am dealing with pasty butt and a VERY swollen vent on a 5 day old chick. New at this chicken thing and very worried. This looks so terrible and she's so little.
I cleaned her vent and the poop is flowing. Her vent was so swollen but just checked her again and it seems some reduced.
Q1: is there anything I can do for her discomfort, and
Q2: how do I get coconut oil into her?
