Hi I have three chicks about a week old, more or less. One of them is constipated and I was just wondering if Apple Cider Vinegar would be ok to put into their water? I have heard it can help with constipation.

Yes and it had thick dried up poop stuck on its but I gave it a bath and got rid of it.

I don't have any sorry and wont be able to take some till I get home I'm at the shops now pending wether or not to by apple cider vinegar.

I know apple cider vinegar is great for chickens, but I don't know if it would help your situation... I would just buy some, because you will need it in the future anyway.

Someone once told me that after you've washed the area with warm water and removed the poo, to massage a little oil on the area to help prevent a reoccurrence.

(for pasty butt)

What leads you to believe your chick is constipated? A constipated chick will act very sick, eyes will be red-rimmed and dull, and it will refuse to eat. Poops will be very scant or non-existent.

ACV is not a cure for constipation. Constipation will kill a week-old chick in just a day if not treated. Oil is the treatment, given orally. I recommend a teaspoon of coconut oil in its solid form given a tiny bit at a time, just slipped into the beak.
