Coolest Chicken Ever! Silkie Mutation? New Pics. 2 months old

I have another question. Does anyone know what I would get if I breed him to a silkie? Then maybe cross back. It would be cool to have some with silkie feathering. But I would only want the feathering, no black skin, crest, or extra toes.

Anyone have any ideas on breeds to breed him too for some really cool chicks? I was thinking my Speckled Sussex. Mottled ones of his shape would be cool.

Sibling to sibling mating is worse. As it intensifies both good and bad characteristics and deformities come up quicker than father to daughter/mother to son matings.

To the OP, if you cross to a Silkie, it may take a while for you NOT to get the dark skin, as the melanization is dominant. Same thing with the crest and extra toes...

The idea was to try to reproduce the result. Inbreeding doesn't have to be detrimental most especially as the parent birds were completely different breeds.

One can put the hookless gene onto other birds, but it would help to know what was going on with the feathering on this chick first.

Oh yes. I plan on putting every Brahma hen to my Polish Rooster once I get home.

And also inbreeding won't be a problem. Not only do I have a White polish rooster and Brahma hens, but I have a white polish hen and a brahma rooster. So I will try both and see if I get the same result. the brahmas aren't related, and the polish aren't related. So we shall see.

I really can't wait to hatch some more and see what happens. And yes I realize it would take awhile to onyl get silkie feathering. But it seems like a good goal I can try for.

Actually I have an even better idea! Fizzles! I also have frizzles. So this little guy and frizzles would be awesome too! Oh I can' wait. lol

I'm glad everyone likes him so much! Once I get home from vacation I will surely post some pictures.

Here are some new pictures of him at 8 weeks old. I love his feathered feet, although he is kind of dirty.
