It gets wet when I mist them in front of the fan.Wet chicken food is the exception. It's properly balanced, so they can have as much as they like of it. And if you wet it with cold water, it's both cool and somewhat hydrating.
I cannot be dunking, they are in the tractor that is like 3 ft tall. Spraying them with misted fan water will have to do.I have a storage container i fillnwith hose water... i have 10 chickens and dunk them in 1 by 1...they stay cool and get a muni bath lol
Mine were like that atI think my chicks are still too young to appreciate real food. they do not touch anything I try to offer them. They don't have a clue what to do with it all. I mean what chicken doesn't like lettuce, peas, berries, corn?
Can you hose everything down? I hose down every inch of their run including the roof inside & out. I wet down ground surrounding run in hopes the fan blowing through the wet grass will help. I place shade cloths over the run roof. My ladies seem to get the most relief when they stand in cool water. Our last water bill was almost double normal, though, even with the summer watering allowance. Oops. My 2 lovely ladies are our pets & our first chickens. I understand your worryI only have 5, but no room in the freezer for jugs. It's going to be almost 100 here today. I pray I can keep them alive.

YuP, I do every hour, I mist them all down, the tarp on the outside and the inside, give them more ice in their water, frozzen treats, a fan. etc. But I am still new and it's all of ours first summers togethers. I didn't think I was going to fall in love with them so badly! they are so adorable and I want to bring them inside, but my cats may think I bring them lunch! lolMine were like that at

I love my little chickens as much as you love yours..I sit with them on and off all day. I put a pop up canopy over my coop and used a mister to try and keep the temps down a couple degrees. I also bought a water heater pan and filled it with water in their run. Also I sprinkle down the run a couple times a day even though it has a cover over it. Its blasted hot here in east Tennessee and we haven't had a lick of rain in quite a while. I fill their water with big hunks of ice every day also. Every little bit helps. Good luck and try not to worry.YuP, I do every hour, I mist them all down, the tarp on the outside and the inside, give them more ice in their water, frozzen treats, a fan. etc. But I am still new and it's all of ours first summers togethers.
