Coon attack??

Glad you guys like it...I know I'd think it was a whole lot funnier if it wasn't my chickens

lol

Yeah...we're all standing in a line firing squad style and no one shoots *rolls eyes*

Thanks for the thing on the traps, I'll look that up.

Great idea on the baby monitor too! We just happen to have an extra...I'll try to get it set up tommorrow!

we are enjoying this thread! sorry for the loss of all your flock, sure hope you catch those critters soon and don't re locate that is just giving someone else the problem.

corn/beer almost cover the corn with beer wait a coupla days let it ripen. the critters will let you know when it is ready . it kina depends on temps warmer ripens it quicker, unless you know anyone who makes shine then use mash best baits around for coon / hogs / bear

if it were me I would dig a hole under the trap for my bait then center the trigger over the bait and stake /weight the trap down

Placing trap slightly off of ground serves the same purpose:

Dont worry snowflake if we catch it we wont be relocating.

We're now wondering if my brother in law did indeed miss or if the coon is just taking a few days off. Traps still set but eh only thing Im catching is my retardo turkey that thinks she's a duck!

I use live traps baited with marshmallows (extremely good bait). I also put out a baby monitor and have it beside me bed every night. Sometimes I have a radio playing outside and the porch light on. I always have a plastic owl hanging on a tree beside the coop. Good luck with catching that raccoon. :)

I have trouble with coons alot, I know this my sound crazy but I caught all of mine by baiting the trap with peanut butter. Also works on other critters.

I have a 23 week old americauna that lost all but one toe (just one foot) as a chick. She get's around just fine! She even manages to get up on the roost. Ended up naming her hobnob.
