I read the first page of this. I'm sorry about your loss but get a live trap and bait with canned cat food and marshmallows. Then once caught drive it off into a secluded county area and let it go.

Wouldn't that just make it someone elses problem or cause the coon to starve? Just curiousI read the first page of this. I'm sorry about your loss but get a live trap and bait with canned cat food and marshmallows. Then once caught drive it off into a secluded county area and let it go.
Coons adapt really well with relocating. That's why to go deep into the woods and release.Wouldn't that just make it someone elses problem or cause the coon to starve? Just curious
You do not appear to think much of your fellow posters. Also, for the love of....
I 100% advocate for killing them but PLEASE do be aware of the small but real possibility of rabies. By this I mean, sorry to be gross, do not wack the dang thing with a blunt object because of possible spray (there, I said it, sorry) with a 22 you can stand far enough back to avoid this but if you can't use a weapon in your area either drown it, freeze it, I don't care. Cruel? Well, Death isn't fun for anyone.
Just use gloves and keep yourself safe.
The coon is running on instinct, and technically do no wrong, so it may not neccasarily deserve it. However, that does not make humanely killing it wrong, and if that is the only way not to lose chickens it is certainly preferable, so I agree with you there.but this is surely better than having no chickens!!!!
After all...they do deserve it!!
I dont understand. Didn't you say you've done the clubbing bit? Just pointing out the obvious so not sure how that can be interpreted as not thinking much of my fellow posters. You do not appear to think much of your fellow posters.![]()
