Coop Cam

That last reply was a fat fingered paste and send. Didn't mean to do it and no comment was meant to be in it so ignore. Sorry

I'm currently stream 6 cams[Foscam fi8918w] to my website [my cycling blog]. Here is my code:

<table border="1" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" width="710"><tbody>

My cams are grouped in two rows, with 3 cameras each. For me presentation in tables gives the appearance I want. The key streaming part is this: http://cyclingexperiences.dyndns-blog.com:8084/videostream.cgi?user=blogger&amp;pwd=chickens&quot; width="229" height="172" /. that takes the place of my external IP address. The blog is a WordPress Blog. Link in my sig. Please e-mail me if you have specific questions. I'm happy to respond to general questions here. Happy streaming...

Jim

P.S. I also see the cams on my iPhone, even with audio. I can use motion detection [egg laying/predators/etc.]. I use FOSCAM Surveillance Pro and LiveCams Pro [while we wait for Surveillance Pro audio].

Jim,

Thank you for the snipet above!!! I got the cameras and used your code (changing to my settings of course) to get them livestreaming in my "under construction" blog!

Yeahhhh!!! you rock!

I'm now up to 8 cameras. Today, I captured a special [still] sequence of activity just befor the laying of the second egg by one of my chicks. I followed her for about 2 hours, using about 5 of my cameras. See the pictures and story here. Hover over each image to read my note. Thanks! --jim

Thanks! I'm very pleased with the time saving factor, the convenience, and that I can share various aspects of my experiences. --jim

I finally got around to walking out to the coop with my ipod. My router signal only reached about halfway there. Bummer. I need something out there because I have a rogue hen who is laying in the corner of the coop and I want to know who it is. I guess I'll have to stick with the kind that take a pic every few seconds rather than wifi for now.

HI Gale65,

My router signal was to weak in the coop also, so I installed a range extender and now I can get the cameras. I actually was ablr to install the range extender inside the coop, but there are some options out there for outdoor access points... a little more money and more config tough...

As you can see in this pic (which was taken a few yrs ago-way before we had the chickens) there is a large building between the house and the coop. Will that interfere? That small shed near the coop is where I keep feed and boots and has electricity. The poop spreader isn't there anymore. If that matters. The coop is up against the fence by the grain bins.
