My dog will eat the shavings sometimes! I try to get him away. He won't eat baby chickens or nothin Judy try ing to have ffun! Is it okay for him.

Depending on the shavings, it could be very bad for dogs. And most definitely bad if they're eating dirtied shavings.

I can't speak for stud muffins like bee kissed or freddy's hens, but I suggest cleaning them when you feel they need to be cleaned

I sweep everything out well and then mop with a weak bleach solution and let everything dry. I then lay down 6 inches of pine flakes (tsc) in the winter and half that in summer. I top dress that with a can of sevin dust. one week later I start my once a week oxine. I use an ultrasonic humidifier. Of course that means you need electric out there but I have a line run. I only do this once in the late fall and it last all through winter. I wont have to change the bedding until March 1st.
