I love my sand coop floors and nesting boxes , I even have sand in my poop boards. I scoop poop boards daily , and the floor as needed .
Raw wood is not great when moisture is a possibility, a sheet of linoleum would allow you to spill the waterer and be able to clean it up
We have Lino under the sand . Going on five years and other then adding sand innesting boxes/poop boards there is no smell and I love to see my girls dust bathe in the coop when the ground is frozen outside .
