Coop Siding

What do y’all use as coop siding? Of course the walls will be made from plywood but what is put over the plywood?

I have had both t-111 and old fence boards. I really liked the t-111.

I was looking at the t-111. How did you put it on and did you paint over it?

I thought about this, but I was worried about heat - not inside so much with the plywood but the surface. My first coop had a steel roof. That stuff got crazy hot in the summer. I'd worry that I'd burn myself when hanging out with the flock!

Did you ever have a problem with heat?

I was looking at the t-111. How did you put it on and did you paint over it?

I used a nail gun and attached it through the plywood to the studs. I painted it with exterior paint. Very easy!

Also did you go around the door and windows or did you have to cut those parts out of it?

Thanks for that info. I like the idea of metal because of wildfires - not that I plan to leave my flock if we have to evacuate, but rather so the coop wouldn't be just more easy fuel on the property.

I cut those out. It cuts very easily.
