Coop signs!?

And, Amazon.com sells many chicken signs that look really good. I'm sure they would last longer out in the sun than my computer printed signs on cardstock paper which faded by the end of the summer. But I can easily print out a new paper poster with a different sign design anytime I want for about 25 cents.

I like the sign your wife made. Did she use wood burning to make the sign? My artistic talent is limited to printing out things on my computer, but I would like to try making a wood burned sign someday with a simple design.
We do a hiking program in our county and they give participants a beautiful walking stick. I wanted to write on it so I bought a very inexpensive wood burning iron and was amazed at how easy it was! Very happy with our results....I put painters tape to make straight line guides and did the writing in pen then traced with iron. I think wood burning would work great for this and I bet you'll like the results! Of course my walking stick writing is much smaller and I used a fine tip. You've given me an idea!!

😂 You're being modest!! The coop is a beautiful piece of art!! What about the residents pics? The paintings of the chicken's butts with names.

You are very kind. The coop is the focal piece of our backyard. It had to look good.

The butt silhouettes are all of my doing. I painted them myself. The letters are from stencils. I am not ashamed to get assistance in creating. My wife chose the color scheme.

I am very proud of the scalloped roof line. I did that by hand. I took a plain board, traced a pretzel can lid, rough cut it by hand with a jig saw and then sanded them evenly round.

The flock was fascinated by what I was doing all day. Many a hen was covered in saw dust that day. :gig

Your lettering turned out beautifully @Building Bridges !!
Thank you so much. I did mine then I did this one for my friend (that I FINALLY persuaded to do the hiking program with me!).....I put his name, the name of the dog that completed the hikes with us and the date. I then added the paracord grips....We were happy. I hadn't thought of using the wood burner for signs for the coop though....I may have to try that!
