Currently, Larry & i have 4 dogs. 1 purebred Pomeranian purchased in Mar 2014 @ approx 12 weeks of age, a ratJack mix adopted in Feb 2019 @ about 2-1/2 yrs & 2 corgi/pom mixes...

**********
And with my job, one day a rescue showed up with 4 Pomeranian mixes & 2 purebred Pomeranians & others - they took on 80 small dogs from hoarding situation. Heart throb for 3... I wish I could have taken 2 home, but could not. I was accepted for one, got cash during lunch & after work, she came home with me. Fizzy was 15 weeks old in Nov 2019.

Sorry so large - didn't crop/fix. Fizzy came to visit me in rehab w/ my broken leg

Well, for all that she was is a friendly, loving little dog, she's not fond of young children. Guess they run & scream too much. Don't let a chick out of a brooder, as she will happily dispatch them. A mouse, not so much.

Hard to believe she's 5 yrs old already!

So cute
I, too, have sometimes had a hard time moving on. But my job @ a low cost spay neuter clinic has exposed me to lots of dogs - many needing to be adopted.

Maybe you could visit a rescue or shelter & forget about breeds for a bit. You might be surprised which dog you might cater too. But if you don't, that's OK, too.
I want to do that for my next dog lol which is a while away like years and years

Awwwww they’re gorgeous!!!!!!

& while i can still say last year...

In April 2023, I was doing the paperwork for the 20 dogs & cats that the Montgomery County Animal shelter bringing in... words first a Corgi/?Pomeranian? mix... 1 yr old female, solid red.

Then a picture. Can you say heart strings "yoinked"? On the phone w/ manager of shelter. Didn't get application thru email before I went home. And yep, as soon as I saw her the next morning, wanted her to go home. Got it accomplished & she did.

The 1st day. 1st pics of her weren't great. What a wiggleworm! Even still groggy from anesthesia, she was not the best car rider(still to this day). I often take 3 or 4 dogs with me - navigatin', doncha know... they LOVE cheese burgers, sausage patties & pup cups...

Just a few short weeks after she arrived, I'd let her out to run w/o supervision. Suddenly she scratched at the door. She was alone... I sat back down waiting for others to return, she curled up @ my feet (normal), but started whimpering & scratching... at her face...

I picked her up - her whole face was "disfiguring" in front of my eyes as it continued to swell... called dogs in as i carried her to the door, thankfully they seemed to know & gave no issue w/ me leaving. Larry was snoring, I didn't wake him. Fastest 15 mile drive on dangerous highway I've ever done. Called, let them know suspected snake bite, coming in hot. By the time I finished paperwork, she seemed to be having problems breathing. They took her back (other folks in lobby were P.O'd!! Wow.)... Came back w/ initial assessment, they'd given something to start reducing swelling & help breathing. I did have to set a $$ limit to include euthanasia if necessary, we had already spent A LOT of $$ on Didy & Hobb in emergencies... Made me a lot ill. Thankfully, not venomous, but still bad. Hours later, after IV & IV meds, meds to take home, she spent night curled up @ Larry's feet. These pics are next day - still very painful & swollen, though it's gone down...

For a while, getting her out the door very difficult. Potty training seemed forgotten (to this day, sometimes, sad face)... but back to normal & freshly groomed.

Christmas 2023 w/ the gang

20231221_083601.jpg

The start of 2024, almost 2 full months, then i slipped & fell. Broke & dislocated ankle. 3 weeks before surgery, 1 of which I spent in hospital, then 1-1/2 more before rehab for a month... few pics. Home end of April, cast off in June. Still struggling w/ mobility & balance issues. All dogs force me up to let them in/out. Antics are fun. They sleep w/ us & on us when sitting. Poof hair is driving me crazy - on clothes & in house. Last grooming was in January - for the 3. I can trim nails, do spot trimmings, but SOONEST they need to be groomed...

20240219_141920.jpg

And yes, they are barking, barkity, bark, bark dogs...

Sometimes they are TERRIBLE. The wind sets them off... Will love the day(s) I can take them to a dog park, let them run while i can watch & work w/ them... I do outdoor chores & property very overgrown right now. Hard to see them, get around etc, still.

They play hard & sometimes sleep just as hard. A wish I have is to take them somewhere to introduce to sheep, goats or runner ducks with herder that knows what they are doing.

This is very accurate meme for them...

Some of my best dogs were and are mixed breeds. Our local shelters have mostly pit bulls, and a few other inappropriate large dogs. I do occasionally check them out, but nothing that fits is ever available.

My dogs are my life, and for life so I always want to be careful that I don't bring in someone that won't fit into my pack of all female dogs. Your dogs are adorable. My best dog ever was a rat terrier Chihuahua mix. Your one looks very similar.
