I am not a vet, but I think the risk is in them getting a thiamine deficiency, which probably isn't gonna happen with 12-14 days of treatment. The amount I mentioned is for liquid Corid. Powder dosage: https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/818879/updated-corid-and-amprol-amprolium-dosing
And I was making medicated water a quart at a time as I only have 4 birds so making medicated water by the gallon was overkill.
I haven't use any medicated feed so can't comment on if it's safe to use with the Corid. I did give them a little bit of probiotics (just the Sav-a-chick stuff) after but now that they're all healthy again they're just getting plain water.
Ah, the powder dose... Huge pet peeve of mine. There are literally hundreds of posts that say say it's one thing, but all those posts were based on one post where flawed math and science were used to come up with the number. I mean no offense to anyone, 'cause I know how hard it is to do the math on this sort of stuff, but I will guarantee you that 1 teaspoon of Corid powder will weigh around 3 grams, which is 600 mg amprolium. Not gonna get into the math here unless any of you want to see it, lol.The amount I mentioned is for liquid Corid.
