Watch the comb. Pea combs develop a larger center row when male. Female combs are slow to develop. female

Straight comb.Female left, male right 4 weeks.

If you know your genetics of fast grow feathering. Females' wing feathers will grow longer, faster.

seems like there was a difference in the width of the wild stripe pattern.
wide=female
narrow =male
I could have that backwards

JR can't tell yet, and I can't really tell from your photo but if it was a Welsummer, they can be sexed at hatch (but I don't think it's 100% reliable). The females have a darker back stripe than the male.

Finally getting some cornish rock hens laying, crossing them with my new barred rock rooster to get a rooster that I will cross again with a cornish rock hen to have hens to cross with my cornish males...hoping for a hybrid vigor
