Hey guys, we have 13 Cornish X meat birds in a chicken tractor right now. There about 8 weeks old I believe? Were planning on butchering them in a few days, as they have reached the weight we want them to be.
Today when we moved the tractor, I noticed one of the cockerels had a very dark face, his comb, wattles, and face, were almost purple. He was laying down eating out of the feeder. I also noticed him closing his eyes some, but didn't look to hard at the rest of his behavior.
I know that Purple comb/face can mean lack of blood flow, does this sound like the same thing? He is a super fat meat bird, so I wouldn't be to surprised if he had some kind of issue. He is a meat bird, and we are planning on butchering them in a few days, so I'm not going to pour any medical treatment into him, I'm mostly just curious as to what this could be. Thanks guys!
I'll post photos if needed.
