My understanding is works like lavender. So you will get birds that visually look like light sussex, but will carry the gene for coronation. Breed the offspring together and you'll get 25% coronation 50% split (carrying the gene) and 25% light sussex (not carrying the gene). I'm not 100% positive on the percentages, but I think it's correct. If not, I know someone will correct me.

I'm not sure I'm understanding what you're asking.

If the parent hen is a light sussex, not carrying the gene, then what I said above applies. If the parent hen is a split and carrying the gene, then yes, you'll get some coronation.

Im sorry im not real clear. I have 2 batches of eggs. The eggs from the coronation roo bred to the hen I believe called a split sussex the hens parents were coronation roo and light sussex hen. Is that a split? and will these produce a coronation?

Not LIKE lavender; it IS lavender, lol. Your percentages are correct, but you need to know that the splits and the birds not carrying lav will not be distinguishable from each other. If you breed back to the coronation parent, half the offspring will be coronation and the remainder split.
