Yes... I do a month supply every time I shop. Every month I do my once a month thing. Wish everyone did it because it makes your life less stressful when tragedy happens.

Yes, same here. After Hurricane Michael we’ve been preparing for hurricanes year round. It was the first time I had lost power that didn’t get turned on that same day (not including generators) and when it hit us we just happen to have had an empty pantry. So after that my husband said never again and we always keep a well stocked house in case of emergencies.

Yes. You should always have a month supply of money for bills, food, household items, pet items, and everything else that's essential. I learned this after VA had 10+ tornadoes touch down on the sage day a few years ago... Never again will I not be prepared.

I even have a week of meds set out (usually) in case we need to leave in a rush.

Yes. They are high risk, so the stores are taking extra precautions for them.
They also are doing it for those with disabilities that make them high risk like lung diseases and stuff like that.

I'll just have family get me my stuff, I don't want to risk shopping.

Most of the grocery stores all over Massachusetts are cutting back hours to give workers time to re-stock and clean. Several have posted “Senior Shopping time” then Trader Joe’s is only allowing 25 shoppers at one time. We can all help by minimizing our trips to the store and being mindful of the retail workers that are busting their butts to keep the customers happy. Be kind. If you’re out of beans make pasta. All you need is fresh eggs and flour. Just a thought.

Does this mean postponing getting chickens for those of us planning to get chicks this spring? Does anyone know about that, esp. in Idaho?
Where were you planning on getting chicks. You might be able to buy direct locally.

I'm gonna go get feed today, maybe I will swing by the grocery store to see what they look like.
My feed store was out of layer pellets yesterday. They had more on the way, so I waited for the truck.

We all have eggs most likely too!

While everyone was making long lines at grocery stores at the start of this thing, my husband ran over to TSC to buy some feed. Gonna do the math real quick to make sure I bought enough, but I’m pretty sure we did and I wouldn’t want to leave other chicken owners without food for their birds. But that store is always empty my husband tells me, hope people aren’t forgetting about their animals.
