Positively NUTS!!! :lau

😉 Aaaand, there ya go. No matter where this thread wanders, it is always, IMO, "on topic": how is Covid-19 affecting you? It's making us all a little stir-crazy, a little inward-focused, a little (okay, a lot!) anxious... so we come here and hang out and pick at each other a little bit and just huddle and wait for it to be over. Just hang out with our peeps. Right? Right!

Kelsey, it would help ME if you weren't quite so repetitive. Like, if you didn't feel you had to reply to every single poster and tell each one the same things over and over again. That does get exhaustive. If you say something to one person, we all read it so you don't have to say it again. Kay? 😉

It is perfectly fine to say something like....

"Thanks for asking. I have a thread about it here (paste link)."

If someone is offended by that hen they are far to easily offended.

Yes I skipped a ton again.
Okay, thank you!!! I’ll do that next time. And sorry again :hide

We also tend to get a little (or a lot) off topic sometimes, this thread being a great example, lol, it was supposed to be about what were all doing in regard to this crisis.
I’ll try to bring it back:
Myself I panicked a bit about not being able to get new chicks this year, my flock is old and I’d planned to transition to a whole new breed. Locally hatched chicks (and rabbits and goats) started disappearing online as soon as they were posted, I was only able to get five of a breed I don’t even want (Whiting True Blues), but that’s fine since they’re so bloody cute!
I also bought my first incubator from amazon, and a box of hatching eggs from someone an hour away (eggs posted online also disappeared quickly!) so now I have these seven fuzz balls:View attachment 2102199
Black is a copper maran, two white are maran (?), the three brown are partridge chantecler and the silver is the lone araucana that hatched. No names yet except this guy:

I’m calling her Four, it’s from a movie but I think the reason is obvious! She also has a cute black eyelash mark, sure hope it’s a girl!
Loved the movie! Have you read the book, "I Am Four," yet? It's pretty good!

Call Child Protective Services, or whatever the equivalent is in your area. CPS will know where and how to get help for her. As family, you could likely even volunteer to shelter her, yourself. Regardless - GET HER OUT OF THERE! Child abuse is nothing to turn away from. Even if it stops, today, she'll be dealing with it for the rest of her life if it's not dealt with by people who know what they're doing. And this isn't just rhetoric speaking. Been there, been through that ... first hand experience.
Every child needs a voice. If she can't be it for herself, she's dependent on you to be it for her. PLEASE!

Sorry for the misunderstanding. She is an adult and is having flashbacks from childhood abuse. Believe me, it ended years ago. So long ago, in fact, she doesn't actually remember the events. But like you said, it leaves scars. Thanks for your concern.

Okay, sorry. :hide I will try to work on it. That one has actually been mentioned to me once before on another thread but I keep forgetting to work on it. :hide I try to but it doesn’t come naturally to me. I feel like I have to reply to everyone even though I know I don’t. :hide I always worry it’s rude 😂🤣 been told it’s not but I can’t haha

Oh, this is so fun! @featherhead007 I wish I could watch it with you.
WATCH PARTY! That's what we'll put on tonight! Last night was "The Devil Wears Prada," I'd never seen it before - pretty good movie! The night before, we watched "The Producers." It took a while to get "into," but once we adapted to the "Ferris Bueller meets Old Movies" style, we were rolling!
tonight, once I get the kids on board, it's Princess Bride, all the way!

No peak or leveling off here. Southern and coastal NJ are catching up to the northeastern corner of the state.

What's happening in your state ?

WA is at 12282/682. The governor is trying to put together a plan to start lifting some restrictions possibly second week of May, including outdoor recreation, construction (? I see construction still going on all over the place), landscaping services (? definitely see that going on already too, the county even came and buzzed out 5' of bramble on front of the property).

Pal in NYC says she now knows multiple people who've tested positive, one is hospitalized but stable (father of her son's friend) and the others are quarantined at home with mild symptoms. Her son was exposed to a coworker who tested positive so her family was quarantining at home as well but that was weeks ago and no one developed symptoms so they're done with self quarantine. She said yesterday their deaths were down to around 500 a day and people were optimistic that things were improving now that they were only losing 500 people a day.

Look into a therapy called "EMDR" - Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. It uses tiny, hand-held "paddles" that vibrate (totally painless!) to reconnect the left and right brain responses associated with buried memories. Don't poo-poo it before trying it. It's used extensively with PTSD patients and others with traumatic memories, with HUGE success. In many ways, child abuse has the same neurological foundations as PTSD, so EMDR opens up those pathways and allows the brain to reprogram the memories so they can be dealt with more openly. It's amazing ... and it's changed my life!

Just hit the Like button, that's enough of a response. Responding to every post clogs up the thread. Kinda like spam, lol.
Sorry. :hide

Okay wait so replying to a bunch of different ones is bad too??? Or just repeating the same info???

I actually did wonder if/worry I was being annoying or taking over by replying to tons at once. :hide

And of course the telling another person the same thing I already said issue haha

I’ll work on both. :hide

There’s just a lot of cool stuff I see and want to comment on or whatever. :th

Like I said, hard for me. I’m a chatter box 😂🤣

And I used to just reply to everything in one post so I didn’t spam but then that was apparently annoying too cause it was too long and hard to scroll past 😂🤣🤷‍♀:hu

I’ll try to work on a compromise haha
