As a kid in 4-H it was required to go on the slaughter facility "field day." (cattle)
It was awful! But I learned a lot and I never forgot it. I'm also aware of how typical meat chickens are treated too. Both on the farm and during slaughter.

This is why at my old farm I took my birds to the Mennonites. Of course my birds were always the cleanest ones there and in the biggest and most comfy crates...(large dog kennels) but I knew they would be treated fairly and that was very important to me.
My meat birds live the life. I'm actually keeping two females from my meat chickens so I can breed them in with my flock.

I notice you're from Colorado does that have anything to do with that line of thinking?
What do you think the government would want everyones DNA for or what would they do with it?
I've spread some of mine around in my youth and don't really care who has it.
I ain't committing any crimes so no worries there and I don't really think anyones gonna want to clone me so whats the fear?
Exactly... Living in fear is not a good thing. You really think they're using your boogers to collect your DNA? 😂😂😂

.....they "could"......but I get your point.

Any volunteers to watch these grumpy dogs for me? Already had one dispute I had to put a stop to.

Side note......
Hubs boss and his wife are mid 70's. They both say the virus is a scam. :hmm
They won't go grocery shopping because others being in masks is unpleasant for them.
She is desperate to get her hair done. This morning before 7am his boss called asking if hubs has a mask she can use so she can get her hair done.

Yup! We sure do! I gave hubs my N95's I bought a couple years ago for coop cleaning.

I pick up some maran eggs today. I paid for them on Venmo. I'm learning new methods of paying people with this virus. They're going to put the eggs in the back of their van and open the tailgate so I can get them... Sounds like when people kidnap you saying they have kittens in the van... "Hey farmer lady... I have some maran eggs in here" better believe I'll be the first to get kidnapped 😂

If it is like the "free candy" van.....run!

Booger collecting it's the new thing. I get blood tests so often at the hospital that they've had my dna for years 🤷🏼‍♀️ I don't fear the unknown and honestly I don't care about it either. I live for today not for tomorrow.

I'll watch your grumpy dog!!! I love dogs whether they're grumpy or not!

This is the grump butt today. She went full snark at the bloodhound. Ain't no call for that crap.
She loves to play ball. :p
Brings it back and will catch it when tossed in the air. Loves fast grounders for a good chase. Definitely would like some one on one play time.

Awww she's so cute! My pug is cranky most days and now the puppy is learning from her 🤦🏼‍♀️ I have two other dogs the puppy could follow, but nope she has to be like my pug.

I have no idea what you mean, lol. I'm a little slow, not actually from Colorado, and assuming there must be some stereotype I don't know about which you are referring to? Or maybe because there is a big military presence here?

Colorado is an interesting place to an outsider. One one hand...Home of Focus on the Family, megachurch owners (don't forget home to many other "religious compounds" in the woods), large military presence, NORAD, and a number of extreme right. On the other hand, there's this massive population of "commie hippies", who drive BMW's, buy Apple products, and smoke joints while talking about the man holding them down types.

I have read/seen on news Colorado has the highest rate of college degrees per capita. Have also read it is the highest percentage of independent voters.

What an interesting place with so many dichotomies!!!

Likely sell it. We have to admit the govt isn't that smart to know what yo do with it. The military or private business on the other hand.

:gig:D :D

Do not underestimate what someone can do with data or the unknown. I don't know how old you are, but if you are 35-80 then you have experienced changes in life that were simply unfathomable, just look at phones for example....Operator dialing phones, to self dialing, corded, cordless, answering machines, giant car phones, smaller car phones, cell phones, flip phone, smart phones, etc. All in one person's lifetime. The speed at which we uncover things keeps accelerating as we learn, and learn how to use, technology and data.

So, as an example, using your DNA and information might be for simple things like letting insurance know you have certain genes which make you "predisposed" to something, which means you pay higher rates or maybe can't get any coverage. The "what if" game for this one could get really fun!! :D

After all, when is the last time a big company used information against you? Or manipulated the system for their benefit and the consumer's detriment? Rhetorically....every. damn. time. lol.

:D :D

My fingers are in many things. Technology is one of them and this stuff is amazing. It's freakishly crazy what I can do (remember, I'm slow) let alone really smart people.
Most people have no idea how much their data or perhaps DNA is being used.

Not long ago (well, I don't remember actually...time doesn't seem to function the same these days) I read/heard about how Alexia users conversations/asks/whatever Alexia is used for...was being scripted and recorded for data use without the users knowledge (I know...sooo surprising I'm sure) It was creepy and made me glad I've never used it.

It's bad enough when you say something like "I need some special glue to fix my shoe" to a friend and all of a sudden your facebook feed or links on your computer turn into oodles of links to glue products. 😳

I'm not into conspiracy theories...but there is no denying these days how obvious it is our lives are being used to collect data. And not in a healthy, helpful, or disease preventing way.
