This is the grump butt today. She went full snark at the bloodhound. Ain't no call for that crap.
She loves to play ball. :p
Brings it back and will catch it when tossed in the air. Loves fast grounders for a good chase. Definitely would like some one on one play time.
Looks like the "helpful" type too.
"Here mom...I'll help by stepping in the puddle of paint when I bring the ball back."

.....they "could"......but I get your point.

Any volunteers to watch these grumpy dogs for me? Already had one dispute I had to put a stop to.

Side note......
Hubs boss and his wife are mid 70's. They both say the virus is a scam. :hmm
They won't go grocery shopping because others being in masks is unpleasant for them.
She is desperate to get her hair done. This morning before 7am his boss called asking if hubs has a mask she can use so she can get her hair done.

Yup! We sure do! I gave hubs my N95's I bought a couple years ago for coop cleaning.
Hair salons are closed as non-essential .

About not caring what happens with collected data, false arrests are made because of familial DNA matches and tracking devices.
A few months ago, there was a news story about a teenager arrested for murder. Why? Because his phone was in his pocket while he rode his bicycle in that neighborhood. The case against him was that he stalked and murdered the woman, and he was the only suspect.
After a lot of lawyer fees, it was discovered that the police didn’t actually look very hard. One of those Ring doorbell cameras caught the real killer.

I was kidnapped, and managed to call the police from a landline. I was told “we don’t trace calls. You need to call back when you know where you are.” As stupid as that was, I actually cannot get mad about it. I’d rather a world where I cannot be traced. Of course, I also would rather the police deal with a crime happening in front of their face, but that’s not the point here.

I have no idea what you mean, lol. I'm a little slow, not actually from Colorado, and assuming there must be some stereotype I don't know about which you are referring to? Or maybe because there is a big military presence here?

Colorado is an interesting place to an outsider. One one hand...Home of Focus on the Family, megachurch owners (don't forget home to many other "religious compounds" in the woods), large military presence, NORAD, and a number of extreme right. On the other hand, there's this massive population of "commie hippies", who drive BMW's, buy Apple products, and smoke joints while talking about the man holding them down types.

I have read/seen on news Colorado has the highest rate of college degrees per capita. Have also read it is the highest percentage of independent voters.

What an interesting place with so many dichotomies!!!

Likely sell it. We have to admit the govt isn't that smart to know what yo do with it. The military or private business on the other hand.

:gig:D :D

Do not underestimate what someone can do with data or the unknown. I don't know how old you are, but if you are 35-80 then you have experienced changes in life that were simply unfathomable, just look at phones for example....Operator dialing phones, to self dialing, corded, cordless, answering machines, giant car phones, smaller car phones, cell phones, flip phone, smart phones, etc. All in one person's lifetime. The speed at which we uncover things keeps accelerating as we learn, and learn how to use, technology and data.

So, as an example, using your DNA and information might be for simple things like letting insurance know you have certain genes which make you "predisposed" to something, which means you pay higher rates or maybe can't get any coverage. The "what if" game for this one could get really fun!! :D

After all, when is the last time a big company used information against you? Or manipulated the system for their benefit and the consumer's detriment? Rhetorically....every. damn. time. lol.

:D :D

My fingers are in many things. Technology is one of them and this stuff is amazing. It's freakishly crazy what I can do (remember, I'm slow) let alone really smart people.
Still don't get the concern and still don't care if they have my DNA.
In my childhood we had a rotary dial phone and was on a party line so that gives away my age somewhat.
I don't get the correlation between technical advances and my DNA. If the government wants to use my DNA in the same route phones went then more power to them. They can make a new generation of people that are smaller, faster and smarter. I don't see any harm in that.
As for businesses like insurance companies wanting to use it to increase my rates. Whats it matter if they want more money they can just do like they always have and just raise my rates without any cause or explanation. That practice isn't new to them or most other businesses.
IDK seems like being paranoid over nothing to me.

They are still sweet.....they are getting some beautiful feathers coming in now too.
They are terrified of me. :(
I am not scary....I move slowly and talk softly to them...I bring them food and fresh water.....yet they freak out and try to run away. :(:(:(

So scared. They need taming. I am putting them in their run again today. I need to add another shade cloth as it is going to be HOT today.
Awwww, look at those poor, terrified (adorable) babies hiding from the big, mean hooman-monster! Welcome to teenage duckling-hood, right? They'll come back around. Mealworms and frozen peas are great equalizers! :)

So this might be a bit tin foil hat like, but, if you wanted to get a lot (potentially everyone's) DNA, how would you do it? What if you wanted to start cataloging the population? It could be put to "good" use! This information would be priceless. We already know ancestry websites sell your DNA (been documented), you think the gov't won't? :D :D :D :D

You know people, especially in the USA, would never ever submit their DNA if you ask for it. You make it their idea, you must make them "want" to give you their DNA. And what is the best tool to herd flocks?

Conditioning and fear.

They are offering free testing here now, no appointment needed. Come one, come all! Let us "test" you (and take your DNA and do with it what they please).
And then there are the people who willingly get their DNA tested to "see where they came from." Building the database. And the people who are looking for birth families (which is pretty cool.) Building the database.
The Matrix had it all wrong. We're not "coppertops," we're LEGOS!
