I suppose I'm the odd one here... I had 2 light Brahmas and they were mean. Mellow and big, but mean. Mean to me and mean to the other chickens. I raised them same as all my other nice hens but I guess they just came from a line of angry people haters. Never saw hens so mean so I sold them and haven't had any Brahmas since.

I had a cream legbar like that. I rehomed her

For me it was silkies. Worst chicken experience EVER. I will never have another.

You know how it is when people gush over xx and when you had xx it was awful. So you cannot for the life of you figure out what the big deal is with xx.
But you don't want rotten tomatoes thrown at you by the xx lovers so you just keep your mouth shut. Usually.

I do! Those rotten tomatoes stain pretty badly.

I think there are duds in every breed really.
For the longest time I was against getting BSL. I finally tried again and these 2 are 4 years old now. It took a long time but they grew on me. Rudy and Trudy are very interested in everything I am doing. While Rudy isn't the nicest hen she is a solid top hen. The others have learned to scatter when she comes to stop an argument. If they are fighting and she gets a hold of one they get a solid beat down.

Definitely a smart and very pretty chicken!!! I wonder if any of mine could do that LOL

She appears to be pecking the lights and of course does it for food but I’m sure there was still training involved.
