I can barely see the bantamsThis one has 3 in it and you can barely see them. I have 9 other quail (I sold 15) that I am going to grow out and see what they look like. I have 2 that are very interesting color wise.

I dont even know why it showed up on my youtube. It kept me entertained for a bit.
I feel like YouTube recommends the strangest things sometimes LOLI dont even know why it showed up on my youtube. It kept me entertained for a bit.
My first instincts were correct ... CATS! Actually, it was "Cat," singular. DS, aka "The Cat Whisperer," has a pair of former feral barn-cats-turned-house-pets. They have come a looooooong way in just two weeks - from hissing from the back of the kennel when we look at them to actively seeking attention (10-mo-old Poe) and grudgingly accepting touch, but wanting to be near the food-givers (Kohana, almost 2 years.) Just this week, Poe decided that he'd rather be with people and Hana actually gave up an honest-to-goodness purr (first ever!,) so they graduated to free-ranging in DS' bedroom. This morning, when he left for work, he deliberately left his door open so they could explore while the rest of the household (including Crazy Dog) were still asleep.But... but ... but.. how did they get out of that?![]()
I'm not a fan, either, but I think I can attribute that to the fact that my first was a hatchery Silkie. I'm currently looking for a black hen for my outreach program. I figure that somewhere, someone has an older, sweet-natured non-egg-laying hen who could use a retirement home. I'll never go the hatchery Silkie route again - health, temperament and standards definitely suffer! Why didn’t you like them? I have 8 right now.

Have you ever heard the old line that "A cat will sit on a hot stove once ... then never again on a cold one" ? Well, I think it's a safe bet that Kohana will NEVER try to sit on a cage of chickens again!
Do a search on these videos ... they're amazing. It helps us understand how things like Babylon's Hanging Gardens and the dramatically beautiful fish ponds in Japan & China were built in ancient days - even some of the things they're finding in Pompei.I dont even know why it showed up on my youtube. It was so cool watching him build that by hand and use all natural materials and stuff.Do a search on these videos ... they're amazing. Modern technology doesn't give us the ability to build these things. It just gives us ways to do them quickly and cheaply, so we have enough leisure time to screw things up in other ways!
That'll make an AWESOME coop & run! Mine is an ancient playhouse/sandbox set-up, too. If I can ever get it cleaned up enough to not embarrass me, I'll post pictures!Im not sure the sex of mine yet, but I’m not keeping anymore cockerels except 1 lucky one maybe but it won’t be a silkie. I was hoping to keep a maran or another bantam Brahma. It all depends on what hatched.
We are turning this into a double decker coop. My father built it for the kids at his house and they are too old to use it so I’m taking it to the farm. My parents have plans for the area it is taking up already.
