Heck, it's not even gone. It's still here and in some areas expanding. In NJ today there were more than 200 deaths, and we are on a downward slope. Sadly I expect to see scattered spikes throughout the country long before fall. There is no indication that heat has any impact on the virus.
Agreed, but hopefully numbers go down enough that we can recoup supplies and energy to face it.

Definitely true!!!

That’s sad that they think that older people or people with preexisting conditions are somehow worth less or not worth saving over young, healthy people. :(

Also, are hospital stays really that expensive!? :th

I guess it makes sense. I’ve heard of some people going bankrupt from medical bills cause it’s like $50,000 or even six digits. And that they even charge for ambulance rides!? :th not sure how common bills that high are though. Maybe he had something super expensive done.

Several (10+) years ago my husband was at work and had a blood clot pass through his heart. The employer called an ambulance. That bill would have been $3,500 to go the 1 mile to the hospital. Yes hospital stays are expensive...ICU with a ventilator......I cannot even imagine how much that would be.

Hubs refused the ambulance and had his boss drive him.

OMG that’s insane!!! :th

How can they even get away with that!?

I wonder if that’s with or without insurance? Probably crazy expensive either way!!

That was the with insurance cost. I doubt they cut the uninsured a break.
We are no longer insured......thanks Obama care.
As soon as that passed the insurance premiums doubled and covered items dropped while our deductible went from $2000 to $6000. That was year one. It only got worse from there.

Oh wow that’s terrible!!! I had no idea!!

I’m uninsured atm too. I stopped being covered March 31st when I turned 26 and it would have cost a ton to pay to be on my parents again so we haven’t done that. And then I kept putting off filling out the form thingy or filing the taxes.

We actually filed them I think last month finally but then the state asked for some other income proof thing so we finally just recently sent that in. Yes put that off forever too.

Anyway, now that that’s all in, I think I should be able to get insurance but I’m not sure. I need to check on that. I was trying to apply for the state one.

Do what you can to get insurance. It may still be to expensive but try.

When I quit my job the insurance (my cost) would have been 1,900 a month with a deductible of $8000. It was cheaper for us (and necessary as that $1,900 was half my income) to go uninsured and cross our fingers.
Even now with 2 of us having diabetes it is still cheaper by a gigantic amount to pay out of pocket.....and do our best to stay out of the hospital.

I think my dad said it was like $600 or $700 a month or something but I’m not sure. Might be worth it to do it for a month or two or whatever until I can get something else. But I also never really get sick or anything so. I did my physical and dentist and stuff before it ran out. I do need a couple tests but those aren’t really necessary and also can’t get them now with Corona anyway. I, too, am trying to stay out of hospitals haha that’s insane to me it’s cheaper to not have it. :th I’ve heard of some people not being able to work full time either because their medicine was cheaper when they didn’t. :th

What do people do that get into like a car crash or shot or something and don’t really have a choice in going or not!? That must be suuuuuuuuupppppppeeeeeeeerrrrrrrr expensive. :th
